Joe Goldberg - A Look At The Character
Have you ever found yourself drawn to a character, even when you know, deep down, that they do truly awful things? It's a bit of a strange feeling, isn't it? Well, that is pretty much the experience many people have with Joe Goldberg, the central figure in the popular series "You." He's a character who, in a way, manages to be both the person we follow and, at the same time, the person we really should be wary of.
This individual, Joseph Gabriel Joe Goldberg, as he is known, is presented as the main player in Netflix's "You." You see him on screen, and he seems, well, pretty ordinary, just a guy running a bookstore. But, as we learn very quickly, there's a whole lot more going on beneath that quiet surface, something that tends to make his story quite compelling, if a little unsettling.
The series, which basically centers around him, shows us how someone who appears quite normal can, actually, harbor very dark intentions. He's a man who, in some respects, becomes fixated on the people he cares about, going to rather extreme lengths to keep them close, and to remove anything he sees as a challenge to his control. It's a truly wild ride, that.
